In 1999,
Playtech
was born. It took a grouping of core entrepreneurs from the
software and multimedia industries to partner up and create this
company.
In 2000, the real
development of the core playtech gaming software began to take
its shape. Playtech conducted multiple market research sessions,
while also identifying the status of the online casino software
industry. There was also collaboration with many existing online
casinos as well as offline casino managers to identify potential
improvements in the current software market.
In 2001, the first
casino with Playtech software was launched. Club Dice Casino
featured the 1.1 version of the casino software. Some of the new
features that were implemented were a very intuitive comp points
system, real time transactions and game time history, multiple
players and multiple platform mode, and clubs specifically
created for online casino VIPs.
By 2002, Word had
spread about the online casinos and their success with Playtech
software. Many of the industry?s most respected online casino
sites began operating the newest version of the software.
By 2003, the online
casino market was booming with requests for playtech. Asian
based providers were launched with playtech. Multiple European
and African based online casinos also followed suit. This also
marked the year which playtech opened up its first Bing network.
In 2004, Playtech
launched its very popular ipoker network. The ipoker network was
one of the first of its kind. It offered a 2d mode application
and a 3d mode application for tournament options. This had not
been done previously.
In 2005 Playtech had
expanded its games list to include over 100 different online
casino games. This year also marked the year that it launched
its newly improved NG platform.
In 2006, Playtech
became a publicly traded company and was accepted into the
London Stock Exchange. |
